ABOUT VETERANS FISHING FOR FUN (VFFF)

Providing Therapeutic Relief, Peer Connection, and Practical Support for Veterans and First Responders in Need

At Veterans Fishing for Fun (VFFF), we are dedicated to offering therapeutic fishing trips and comprehensive assistance for Veterans and First Responders who have been impacted by PTSD, emotional challenges, disabilities, and the stresses of life after service. Founded six years ago by Glenn Coop and his wife Caria Coop, our team specializes in providing personalized support tailored to the unique needs of each participant, ensuring they receive a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and the relief they deserve in a neutral, judgment-free environment.

Our mission goes beyond fishing outings; we are committed to expanding access to practical services like mechanic work, air conditioning repairs, and plumbing, while partnering with organizations such as The Gold Star Survival Outreach Service and The Gold Star Family Retreat to address grief and broader community needs. We believe that every Veteran and First Responder deserves a second chance at peace and purpose, and we work tirelessly to create safe spaces for conversation, healing, and real-world help that truly makes a difference in their lives.

Join us in making a difference! Your support through donations or volunteering helps us continue our vital work in providing lifelong relief and peer-driven support for those who’ve served. Together, we can ensure that no Veteran or First Responder is left to face their battles alone.

Our Founding Story

Born from Compassion: Glenn and Caria's Vision for Veteran Healing and Support

My name is Glenn Coop, and together with my dedicated wife, Caria Coop, we established Veterans Fishing for Fun (VFFF) about six years ago, inspired by an unwavering dedication to supporting our fellow Veterans. As a Veteran myself, I have experienced the deep impact of PTSD, the unseen wounds that persist well beyond active duty, often leading to restless nights, profound isolation, and unrelenting stress. We initiated this organization with a clear and impactful goal: to facilitate therapeutic fishing excursions that deliver essential relief, creating tranquil retreats on the water where individuals can relax, reconnect with the natural world, and start addressing their personal challenges. “The act of casting a line opened doors to tranquility,” Glenn shares, “enabling Veterans to find respite and engage in meaningful conversations within a supportive, non-judgmental setting.”

Why Choose Veterans Fishing for Fun?

At Veterans Fishing for Fun, we do more than organize fishing trips; we offer healing, hope, and community support for Veterans, First Responders, and Gold Star families. Here’s why people choose to fish with us, volunteer alongside us, and support our mission:

Compassion Comes First

Every Veteran and First Responder we serve is treated like family. Whether struggling with PTSD, loneliness, or daily life challenges, each person receives understanding, encouragement, and genuine care in a safe environment.

Built by Veterans, for Veterans

Our organization was founded by Glenn and Caria Coop, everyday people with a heart for service. We’ve walked alongside Veterans long enough to understand their struggles, and that firsthand perspective makes our approach real, relatable, and deeply personal.

More Than Fishing Trips

While fishing remains at the heart of what we do, our mission has grown to include practical help like auto repairs, air conditioning service, and plumbing assistance. Because healing isn’t only about moments on the water, it’s about meeting real needs in daily life.

Community of Support

We may not be licensed counselors, but we are listeners, encouragers, and friends. Our trips and services create a space for Veterans and First Responders to talk freely, connect with peers, and know they are not alone in their struggles.

100% Nonprofit and Mission-Driven

As a registered 501(c)(3), every donation we receive goes directly toward supporting Veterans, First Responders, and their families. Your generosity funds fishing trips, covers equipment, and provides services that make an immediate difference in people’s lives.

Partnering for Greater Impact

Through partnerships with organizations like the Gold Star Survival Outreach Service and the Gold Star Family Retreat, we extend our reach to families coping with unimaginable loss. Together, we’re committed to bringing comfort, healing, and hope.

Ethical. Trusted. Respected.

We aren’t in this for profit; we’re here to serve. Veterans Fishing for Fun exists to honor the sacrifice of those who’ve given so much for us, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and never forgotten.
